Thailand 2013

After our time in Cambodia, we took a night bus to Bangkok.  It took us about 12 hours to get there (bleh) when it was supposed to take only six hours.  When we got to Bangkok, we didn't have any hotels booked, so we walked around the city for a bit, with all our luggage, looking for a hotel to stay in that night.  After we booked our hotel, the fun in Thailand began...

After we checked into our hotel, we walked around the city a bit, ate street food, and took in all that Bangkok had to offer.
We really wanted to go to the HUGE weekend market, so this is a picture of all five of us cramming into the tiniest tuk tuk in all of Bangkok.  We had to sit like this for about 20 mins because the market was not that close to our hotel.
I just had to get a picture of this for a couple reasons... One, I am an animal lover.  Two, this is freaking hilarious!  And three, this would only happen in Asia.
This restaurant that we went to was so yummy and super cheap!  My meal was about five dollars including a drink and dessert!  I tried sticky rice for the first time on recommendation from Brittany and Viv, and I must say it was out of this world!
Ronald McDonald is everywhere in Bangkok!  (We didn't take a ton of pictures in Bangkok, because we mostly shopped the whole time)
We stayed with Viv's friends in a little beach town a couple hours out of Bangkok called Pranburi.  They didn't have enough room for us all to sit inside the car, so we rode in the back!  Pranburi is so beautiful!

We had lunch on the beach at a very scrumptious seafood place.  I've never had Thai seafood so good in my life!  My belly ached for sure after this meal because I couldn't stop eating all the yummy food!
There are so many Buddhists temples all over Thailand, but we thought this one was especially pretty.
I wish this picture captured the beauty of this experience better.  Brittany, Viv, and I were dipping our feet in the pool and soaking in the beauty of Thailand.  This was one of those surreal moments you have in life where you say to yourself "where am I???"  This pool was surrounded by the most lush and beautiful garden full of blooming flowers, hanging fruit, and the greenest leaves.  The mountains in the back full of green trees added so much beauty to the whole scene.  Truly spectacular.
We got to spend some time on the beach just relaxing and enjoying the seventy something degree ocean water!
The girls and I got some cute Thai coverups from the weekend market we went to in Bangkok.  Pinn and Boon (Viv's friends who let us stay at their house) had the most beautiful trees full of the flowers we have in our hair.  Love these girls to pieces!

Pinn and Boonn really hooked it up for us.  Not only did they let us stay in their guest house, bought us amazing Thai food whenever we went out for a meal, and drove us to and from the bus stop, they also let us use their three ATVs!  We had so much fun driving around Pranburi on those things!  Aaron rode the tiny ATV like a champ!
Garrett took a nap on the beach and this is how the back of his head looked when he woke up.
The beach was FULL of tiny crabs.  They were so fun to chase around.
Of course we had to go jet skiing!!  Garrett and Aaron said I'm a crazy driver... I guess I just have the need for speed!! And I love going off big jumps.
We drove past this cove of boats everyday on our way to the beach.  They were so cool because all of them were so colorful and rustic looking.

 Us on the ATV!

 What beautiful scenery!

I realized just now that I took a lot more video of Pranburi than pictures, so hopefully Garrett and I can make a video and put it up on a separate blog post!  Thailand was so much fun and so cool to experience.  There are so many other places that we want to travel in Thailand, so we are planning on going back in the future.  Pranburi has some of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen that have been engraved in my mind forever.  I feel so blessed to have been able to see so many of God's beautiful creations and I hope that Garrett and I will keep having the opportunity to travel the world, and keep making memories to last a lifetime.
