Updates

Where have I been??  Well I have no excuse other than laziness... Or lack thereof.  I can say that I have been lazy with blogging, but I cannot say the same about my everyday life.  A few days before Christmas, Garrett graduated from BYUI in Business Finance (I am one proud wifey)!  And then we packed up and moved down to Orem, Utah!  We LOVE it here!  So many of our friends and family live here, so we always have something to do.  On the second of January, Garrett and I started work at a call center that we invested in.  He is managing it while I just make the phone calls all day.  Definitely not an ideal job, but it pays better than most and it's super easy.  That's been taking up most of our time.
At the beginning of January, I made the New Years resolution to have an extremely healthy lifestyle.  So far, it has been going great!  I feel so much better, my hair and skin are improving, and I have a lot more energy. I have been seeing an amazing personal trainer twice a week and also making sure that I am feeding my body the things it needs to be the healthiest.  I have seen so many improvements in my physical appearance as well (obviously).  The muscles on my legs, stomach, arms, and back (pretty much all over) are becoming more defined and definitely more strengthened.  It's so awesome to see progress and to notice the changes that my body is making as I work hard.
I am a firm believer in living a healthy lifestyle.  My mom is a dietitian and personal trainer, so I grew up with whole wheat pasta and bread, no sugar cereal, no chips, fruits and vegetables with every meal, low fat everything, family hikes and morning workouts, etc.  I feel so grateful for learning how to be healthy at a young age. Because of that, it's pretty much second nature.  But for those out there who did not grow up the same way (which is totally fine obviously), even if being healthy does not come as second nature, it is totally worth it to start NOW in making small improvements and taking baby steps to creating a healthy life for yourself.  You only get one body, so might as well take care of it right? Anyway, what I mean by "baby steps" is, making simple changes in your daily routine or food selection to start on the path of being healthy.  For instance, maybe get the non-salted butter, or change from white pasta to wheat pasta (they taste pretty much the same), or signing up for a gym membership.  Simple, little changes can lead to a great deal of motivation to keep changing the little things, until you're living a more healthy lifestyle.
Motivation is everything.  You gotta want it.  I am not saying that I live a perfectly healthy life either.  I will have a brownie or piece of candy every once in awhile.  Do things that make you happy while being conscientious of what you want to achieve.
I didn't mean for this post to be a long-winded rant about being healthy, but I do know that striving for something, and making goals for yourself will bring a sense of perspective and meaning to life.  There is something so liberating about it.
Anyway, Garrett and I are doing very well and just loving life.  We have such a blessed life, and I thank the Lord everyday for all of our blessings.
I love this gorgeous family that I was so blessed to be apart of!! This was our Christmas card photo, along with a wedding photo.
Life is so good and I am excited for what will come next!
Thanks for reading!
